What is NEET(UG) exam?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a nationwide entrance examination conducted in India for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs. Administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET serves as the single gateway for aspirants seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, etc.), and other allied health science courses in government and private medical colleges across the country.

Minimum marks in PCB (aggregate):
General: 50%
OBC/SC/ST: 40%
PwD (General): 45%
Age Limit:
Minimum: 17 years (by 31st Dec 2025)
Maximum: No upper age limit

Cut-offs Summary for NEET 2026
NEET UG 2025 Cut-off Summary:
Qualifying Cut-off (Eligibility for Counselling):
General (UR): 144+ marks
OBC/SC/ST: 113–143 marks
Admission Cut-off (for MBBS Govt. Colleges):
UR (AIQ): 620–680+
UR (State): 570–620+
OBC: 550–610
SC/ST: 420–550
However, this marks can change year to year. Cut-offs dropped slightly in 2025 due to a tougher paper and no perfect scores.
Qualifying lets you enter counselling, but admission depends on rank, quota, and seat availability.

3. Key Observations

BAMS and AYUSH courses are gaining popularity due to increased focus on traditional medicine and integration into primary healthcare.
Gujarat has seen growth in both medical and AYUSH education, with upcoming new colleges expected to increase intake from 2026 onwards.
